Practice policies

Clear expectations.
More room for care.

A few things to know about appointments, communication, and working together.

Appointments, cancellations & no-shows

Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. A $150 fee applies to no-shows and cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice.

There is a 10-minute grace period. After that, your visit is rescheduled. A card on file is required to hold appointments, and same-day online booking is not available.

Medication refills

If you have less than a week’s medication supply and no upcoming appointment, contact the office through your established secure messaging channel as soon as possible. Please allow up to three business days for approval.

We do not respond to automatically generated pharmacy refill requests. Typically, refills are sent during your follow-up appointment to last until the next scheduled visit. We do not refill medications prescribed by other providers without a full evaluation.

Communication between visits

Use the secure messaging instructions provided by your care team. The current practice policy asks patients to allow 48 business hours for a response. Messages are returned during business hours, Monday–Friday.

Medication changes require an appointment. Our new portal is coming soon; contact the office if you need help with your current messaging access.

For a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. See 24/7 crisis resources.

Ending care

You may end services at any time if you feel the practice is not meeting your needs. If possible, please let us know when you plan to transition to another provider.

The practice’s current policy lists the following circumstances in which services may be ended:

  • Misuse of prescriptions
  • Non-payment
  • More than three no-shows or late cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice
  • Inactivity for more than six months without follow-up

Forms & letters

Please request forms or letters in advance; they are completed during an appointment. Your provider will let you know whether a specific request can be completed. This practice does not complete disability paperwork.

Controlled substance policy

The practice prescribes benzodiazepines minimally. Your clinician will discuss whether a medication is appropriate and review treatment options with you.

Stimulant medications may be prescribed for ADHD when appropriate.

Telehealth appointments

Visits are primarily by telehealth. You must be physically in Pennsylvania at the time of your appointment, including if you live in another state.
